Taking the First Step Through the Unifying Power of Sport

The Erasmus+ Mobility of Youth Workers project “A Cultural Case: Sports” (Project No: 2025-1-AT01-KA153-YOU-000299955), coordinated by FI Gesundheits- und Sportverein, officially started in Klagenfurt, Austria. Bringing together representatives from Kabataş Ticaret Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi (Turkey), KUFF Sports and Education Club (France), Alex Frias (Spain), Kicsi Szívek Gyermekoktatási Központ Egyesület (Hungary), and FI Gesundheits- und Sportverein (Austria), the project aims to explore the relationship between sport and culture while highlighting the role of traditional sports in shaping societies.

On the first day, participants began with an energizing Zumba session, emphasizing the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyles. Through interactive icebreaker and name-learning games, youth workers from different countries had the opportunity to get to know one another and build the foundations of intercultural cooperation. Informative sessions on the Erasmus+ Programme and Youthpass introduced participants to the project framework, expected learning outcomes, and the value of documenting competences gained through non-formal education.

Environmental awareness activities were also launched, encouraging participants to reflect on sustainability and their role in promoting environmentally responsible practices. The first day successfully established a collaborative and inclusive atmosphere, laying the groundwork for a week dedicated to exploring how sport reflects cultural identity and strengthens intercultural understanding.
