The Erasmus+ Mobility of Youth Workers project Critical Health Literacy (2025-3-AT01-KA153-YOU-000370372), held in Klagenfurt, Austria between 17–24 March 2026, came to a successful conclusion after an intensive and productive learning journey that enhanced participants’ knowledge and skills in the field of health literacy.
The project brought together organizations from six different countries: FI Gesundheits- und Sportverein (Austria), Gənclər Azad Sahibkarlıq Fəaliyyətində İctimai Birliyi (Azerbaijan), Debreceni Sport és Kulturális Központ (Hungary), Aktif Gençlik Platformu (Türkiye), Nuvoloq (Georgia), and S.C CYBERWARE CLOUD S.R.L (Romania). Throughout the mobility, youth workers explored key topics such as identifying health misinformation, strengthening critical thinking skills, accessing reliable health information, and supporting young people in making informed decisions about their health and well-being.
The final day began with the energizing Motion Mix activity, which helped participants start the day with enthusiasm and positive energy. Through a series of light physical exercises and movement-based activities in an outdoor setting, youth workers became physically active while reinforcing the importance of healthy lifestyle habits that had been discussed throughout the project.
Later in the day, participants took part in the Ideas in Action activity, which involved a visit to a local stakeholder organization. During this visit, youth workers shared the experiences, knowledge, and outcomes gained throughout the project. Productive discussions were held on promoting health literacy among young people, combating health misinformation, and developing effective approaches for youth work. Participants also introduced the Erasmus+ Programme and highlighted the value of international cooperation in fostering learning and professional development.
In the afternoon, the Capturing Learning: Youthpass Certificate Completion session provided participants with the opportunity to reflect on the competences and skills they had developed during the mobility. Through the Youthpass process, youth workers evaluated their learning journey and identified achievements related to critical thinking, intercultural communication, teamwork, and health literacy. The session encouraged participants to recognize and articulate the impact of non-formal learning on their personal and professional development.
The cultural dimension of the project was further strengthened through the Klagenfurt Discovery activity. Participants explored the city’s historical and cultural heritage, visiting important landmarks and learning more about the local context. Beyond its educational value, the activity offered an excellent opportunity for informal interaction, helping participants strengthen friendships and deepen intercultural understanding.
The final official activity of the mobility was the Final Evaluation session. During this comprehensive reflection process, participants provided feedback on the project’s content, methodologies, learning outcomes, organizational aspects, and intercultural experience. Their evaluations will contribute to assessing the overall impact of the project and improving the quality of future Erasmus+ initiatives.
Over the course of eight days, the Critical Health Literacy project equipped youth workers with practical tools and innovative approaches for addressing health misinformation, promoting reliable health information, and supporting young people in becoming more critical and informed consumers of health-related content. At the same time, the project fostered meaningful international cooperation and laid the foundation for future partnerships among participating organizations.
As the mobility came to an end, participants returned home not only with new knowledge and professional competences but also with valuable international experiences, stronger intercultural awareness, and lasting connections. The Critical Health Literacy project once again demonstrated the vital role of health literacy in building more informed, resilient, and healthier communities across Europe.
