The Erasmus+ Mobility of Youth Workers project “A Cultural Case: Sports” (2025-1-AT01-KA153-YOU-000299955), coordinated by FI Gesundheits- und Sportverein, successfully came to an end in Klagenfurt, Austria after bringing together youth workers from Austria, Turkey, France, Spain, and Hungary for a week of intercultural learning and exchange.
Throughout the project, participants explored the relationship between sport and culture by discovering traditional sports from different countries, taking part in practical activities, and sharing experiences from their own communities. The programme also incorporated environmental sustainability activities, encouraging participants to combine active citizenship with environmentally responsible practices.
The final day featured presentations of the sustainability activities carried out during the project, a reflection on the learning outcomes achieved throughout the week, and the awarding of Youthpass Certificates. Participants also had the opportunity to further explore the cultural heritage of Klagenfurt before concluding the mobility.
By the end of the project, youth workers had gained new tools, knowledge, and perspectives on the role of sport in preserving cultural heritage, promoting inclusion, and strengthening intercultural dialogue. The project demonstrated how traditional sports can serve as a powerful means of connecting people across cultures while encouraging young people to engage in active and healthy lifestyles.
