Our project named Keep Calm and Fight Depression with reference number 2023-1-AT01-KA152-YOU-000140024, which we participated in erasmus plus projects, was accepted.
The project will be held in Klagenfurt, Austria and will include participants from Austria, Bulgaria, Romania, Portugal, Spain, Turkey. 10 people from each country will participate in the project, which is determined to be 60 people in total, and the project will be carried out between 16.12.2023-23.12.2023.
The main subject of the project is; In recent years, the perception of antidepressants as miraculous has led to their inappropriate use. For example, while the WHO states that the worldwide prevalence of depressive and anxiety disorders increased by ~18% and ~15% respectively from 2005 to 2015, it has been shown that the consumption of antidepressants in 18 European countries that are members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, i.e. the prevalence of both depressive and anxiety disorders in Europe, ranked third (close to the world average) among the six WHO world regions, doubled from 2000 to 2012, i.e. increased by 100%.
Today, individuals use antidepressants unconsciously for various reasons and have to cope with negative conditions such as headaches, abdominal pain, insomnia, loss of appetite, stomach problems and anxiety. In this sense, with our project, we aim to show young people and the society together with young people the unconscious use of antidepressants and alternative ways of coping with depression.
